Chiropractic

Chiropractic has been around since 1895 (oddly enough the same year X-rays were discovered) when a deaf person’s hearing was restored by moving a vertebra back into its proper position. At that time it was wrongly thought to be a cure for deafness. After decades of research and many more advances in modern medicine it was discovered that nerves control every system in the body and when nerves become impinged (think of a kink in a garden hose) the organ or system that the nerve travels to does not perform normally.

Nerves exit from the main spinal cord at every vertebral segment and run to every organ and system in your body from there. The purpose of chiropractic is to re-align the spine so the nerves can flow freely and your body can perform like you were supposed to.

How do you know if you have a misalignment of the spine causing nerve interference (also known as a subluxation)? There are usually 5 phases:

  1. Decrease in range of motion
  2. Weakness
  3. Numbness
  4. Tingling

Pain

Pain is usually the LAST thing to show up when you have nerve interference. Just like a dentist checks for cavities, a chiropractor checks for subluxations. Turn your power back on today!

Massage Therapy

60 min $80 | 90 min $120 |  120 min $140

Bring your body back into balance by improving your posture.  Specific and intricate application of strong pressure is used on specific muscle groups.  Intended for people seeking relief of chronic or acute pain.  Gentle yet effective with lasting results.  Sessions include postural analysis, massage, custom stretching and exercise routine.

Neuromuscular therapy provides alignment based massage therapy and bodywork techniques such as myofascial release, trigger point therapy, compression, traction, and stretching to release chronic contracted muscles, bringing the body and posture back into alignment, enhancing the overall health and wellness of the client.

Reasons why people suffer from pain: lack of blood supply to the area, trigger points which are sensitive areas within very tight muscles, which can refer pain to another location, nerve compression, excessive pressure on a nerve, poor posture due to working, sleeping or sporting conditions, bio mechanical dysfunction.  The body sometimes uses muscle in the incorrect sequence.  Often when an injury occurs the individual begins to hold their body in a particular way, perhaps to ease their pain or to protect themselves from further injury.  However this can lead to more problems at a later stage. This is called compensations, if left untreated, severe postural distortions will occur.

Neuromuscular Therapy May:

Alleviate pain ●  Enhance posture and alignment ● Improve range of motion ● Ease medication dependence ● Enhance immunity by stimulating lymph flow- the body’s natural defense system ● Exercise and stretch weak, tight, or atrophied muscles ● Help athletes at any level prepare for, and recover from, strenuous workouts ● Improve the condition of the body’s largest organ- the skin ● Increase joint flexibility ● Lessen depression and anxiety -Promote tissue regeneration, reducing scar tissue and stretch marks ● Pump oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs, improving circulation ● Reduce post-surgery adhesion and swelling ● Reduce spasms and cramping ● Relax and soften injured, tired, and overused muscles ● Release endorphins-amino acids that work as the body’s natural pain killer ● Relieve migraine pain.

There’s no denying the power of bodywork.  Regardless of the adjectives we assign to it (pampering, rejuvenating, therapeutic) or the reasons we seek it out (a luxurious treat, stress relieve, pain management), massage therapy can be a powerful ally in your healthcare regimen.  Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress related.  And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress.  While eliminating anxiety and pressure altogether in this fast-paced world may be idealistic, massage can without a doubt, help manage stress.

PEMF Therapy

PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field. Devices that utilize PEMF technology emit electromagnetic waves at different frequencies in order to stimulate and encourage your body’s natural recovery process.

Your whole body, including skin, bones, and organs, is composed of cells. The membranes of healthy cells have positive and negative magnetic charges. These charges are required to exchange ions carrying chemical elements your body needs to function, like calcium and potassium. Over time your cells deteriorate or get injured, and when that happens they lose their magnetic charges – and with them, the ability to exchange ions. Symptoms like inflammation, fatigue, and pain are caused by damaged cells with low charges. PEMF technology targets the affected area and restores cells’ healthy electromagnetic charges.

If you suffer from pain, have pain from a recent injury, or if you’re in search of joint pain relief, PEMF therapy may be able to help. PEMF therapy is a non-drug form of pain relief, and even better, it has never been associated with any negative side effects. Always listen to your body and consult your doctor before trying any new methods of pain relief.

Ultrasound

Therapeutic ultrasound is often used by physiotherapists to reduce pain, increase circulation and increase mobility of soft tissues. Additionally, the application of ultrasound can be helpful in the reduction of inflammation, reducing pain and the healing of injuries and wounds.

Ultrasound therapy uses a more continuous transmission of sound waves. The sound waves cause microscopic vibrations in the deep tissue molecules, increasing heat and friction. This helps to decrease the inflammatory response, reducing tissue swelling and thus decreasing pain

Cold Laser Therapy

Cold laser therapy is low-intensity laser therapy that stimulates healing while using low levels of light. The technique is called “cold” laser therapy because the low levels of light aren’t enough to heat your body’s tissue.

Cold Laser Therapy or Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is a treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of light to interact with tissue and is thought to help accelerate the healing process. It can be used on patients who suffer from a variety of acute and chronic conditions in order to help eliminate pain, swelling, reduce spasms and increase functionality.

Cold lasers are handheld devices used by the clinician and are often the size of a flashlight. The laser is placed directly over the injured area for 30 seconds to several minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated and the dose provided by the cold laser unit.

Infrared Sauna

An infrared sauna is a type of sauna that uses light to create heat. This type of sauna is sometimes called a far-infrared sauna — “far” describes where the infrared waves fall on the light spectrum. A traditional sauna uses heat to warm the air, which in turn warms your body.

The appeal of saunas in general is that they cause reactions similar to those elicited by moderate exercise, such as vigorous sweating and increased heart rate. An infrared sauna produces these results at lower temperatures than does a regular sauna, which makes it accessible to people who can’t tolerate the heat of a conventional sauna. But does that translate into tangible health benefits? Perhaps.

Several studies have looked at using infrared saunas in the treatment of chronic health problems, such as high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, headache, type 2 diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis, and found some evidence of benefit. However, larger and more-rigorous studies are needed to confirm these results. Some of these studies were also performed with patients using traditional sauna.

Hypervolt

The Hypervolt was built to reinvent the massage experience, giving everyone the ability to Move Better. Regularly used in CrossFit, NBA, and other professional athletes around the world. Featured in Women’sHealth, Men’sHealth, Runner’s World, Forbes and GQ Magazines.

BENEFITS of Percussion Therapy:

  • Helps relieve muscle soreness and stiffness

Impulse Adjustment

High-tech computerized adjustments with Impulse iQ® actually precisely measure how the spine is moving during the treatment so that just the right amount of care can be provided.

Years of research have gone into the development of the Impulse iQ Adjusting Instrument® to create gentle and specific chiropractic adjustments that are safe and effective for patients of all ages.

Impulse iQ® has three different force settings for different parts of the body and to treat patients of all ages. The controlled low force thrust of Impulse® make treatments comfortable.

Impulse iQ® is twice as fast as other adjusting instruments and 100x faster than manual chiropractic adjustments. The gentle thrust is faster than the body’s tendency to tighten up and resist the adjustment.
